2026 K.H. Kuo Award for Distinguished Scientist in Biological Electron Microscopy 

Presented to Dr. Christopher J. Russo 

MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology

For pioneering technological innovations that transformed cryo-electron microscopy by overcoming fundamental physical barriers to high-resolution structure determination.

2026 K.H. Kuo Award for Outstanding Young Scientist in Structural Biology 

Presented to Dr. Ellen D. Zhong 

Princeton University

For pioneering deep learning methods that reconstruct continuous conformational landscapes from cryo-electron microscopy data, transforming the analysis of structural heterogeneity and advancing structural biology.

Both awards will be presented at the 2026 K.H. Kuo International Symposium on Cryo-EM, to be held in Beijing, China, August 21–25, 2026, where the awardees will deliver invited lectures.
