In this introduction to the World of Scientific Publication, I will discuss the broad range of journals available to scientists and will introduce you to unique services from Cell Press that can help you reach the right audience and maximize the impact of your research. Other points of discussion will include the role of the editor, the peer review process, the path to publication and the evolving landscape of publishing in the digital era. In addition, I hope to give you a glimpse of my experience as an editor at Cell Press, highlighting how the career path fits into the ecosystem of biomedical research.
